MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial reporting and management accounts
  • Ownership of the monthly management accounts process — produce within agreed deadlines accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements in accordance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, and present these to the leadership team
  • Prepare the quarterly board pack including financial commentary, KPI analysis, variance analysis against budget and prior year, insights and recommendations to improve financial results
  • Manage the year-end statutory accounts process — coordinate with the external auditors, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure accounts are filed within the statutory timeframe

  • Ensure the bank’s financial records are maintained accurately and in compliance with IFRS 

• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Lead the annual budget and business planning process — coordinate with department heads, consolidate inputs, challenge assumptions, and produce a budget that is both realistic and challenging
  • Support the FP&A activities of the business — produce revenue and margin analysis, department-level cost analysis, and financial performance reporting
• Financial controls and compliance
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures ensure integrity and accuracy in financial reporting and operations
  • Manage the external audit process — act as the principal contact for auditors, provide supporting documentation, and manage the audit to completion within the agreed timetable
  • Coordinate and liaise with tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax obligations.
• Strategic and business finance
  • Act as the financial business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team — translate financial data into commercial insight and support key business decisions with robust financial analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve margin, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of the bank’s financial operations
• Finance team management
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the finance team
  • Implement and improve finance systems and processes — accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools - to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Your Track Record

• Qualified accountant —ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants),
• Post-qualification experience of five to twelve years, with demonstrable experience of leading a finance function or managing a finance team at a senior level in the banking sector

Your drive

• Management accounts: Hands-on experience of producing accurate monthly management accounts within tight deadlines
• Financial planning: Experience of leading an annual budget process and periodic rolling forecasts
• Financial controls: Experience of implementing and maintaining financial controls and compliance
• Team management: Proven experience of managing, developing, and mentoring a finance team
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
